History
The village was founded in 1294 the nobles of the Ugrian family Berzeviczy. They came from the Tyrol. Members of this family built a castle as well as Nedeca or Lechnický kláštor, which is today known as the monastery of Červený kláštor. In the second half of the 20th century was built resort of Studený potok with several hotels, guest houses and cottages of the village on the edge of the Tatra National Park.

In the village you will find a wide range of possibilities for active recreation and relaxation. You can try such as mountaineering, skiing, paragliding, bungee jumping, rafting, horseback horse sledge for sightseeing, relaxing and restorative services.
Surroundings
Winter opts for the ski slopes in the Tatranská Lomnica, Smokovec, Ždiar and Štrbské Pleso. Summer in turn provides opportunities for hiking the High Tatras and Slovak Paradise. In the nearby area you can see sights like the castle of Spišský hrad , which is inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage List, the church of sv. Jakuba in Levoča with a 18 m high wooden altar, a Renaissance castle in Kežmarok or museum Tatra National Park in Tatranska Lomnica.
