Spa Spa Bělohrad

Lázně Bělohrad is situated in the foothills of the Giant Mountains between the towns of Jičín and Dvůr Králové. Javorka brook flows through the town. The town is famous for its peat, which has been used here for a long time for medical purposes, thanks to which there were created mud baths. Belohrad Spa provides treatments that have a beneficial effect on all musculoskeletal disorders - rheumatic diseases, back pain, arthrosis, post-traumatic conditions and orthopedic surgery.

History

The spa tradition of this town dates back to 1885, when Prussian Countess Anna of Asseburg made the first successful attempts to test the effects of the local peat. Today this sulfur-iron peat is one of the natural healing resources used in the form of spas, wraps and tiling. In 1888 the baths were officially recognized as medicinal and allowed to use the designation sulfur peat baths. In 1891 a large Swiss-style spa house was built in today's spa area. The beginning of the 20th century meant a further boom for the spa. In 1901 in Bažantica drilled sulfur-iron spring, which was named Anna-Marian.

Location and climate

Lázně Bělohrad is situated in the Hradec Králové Region at an altitude of 291 m above sea level. m., about 16 km Jicin. The total area of the city is 4,213 km². From the southwest, the town is protected by the ridge of Chlum, in the north the Kamenná hůra rises, from the west the ruins of the Kumburk and Bradec castles and the Tábor hill rises. The guardian of the whole basin is Zvičina with a tourist cottage.

Tourist attractions

Nearby attractions include the 18th-century Baroque chateau and the 17th-century Baroque All Saints Church. A visit to this place attracts tourists to trips to the Prachov Rocks, to Jičín, to the Dvůr Králové Zoo and to the Krkonoše Mountains, where the most beautiful viewpoint of the whole area is located. Another area attraction is the pheasantry - spa park with a music pavilion and sports complex, where you can use tennis courts and a tennis hall, volleyball court or football field and mini golf.

Surroundings

The city is surrounded by many forests and well-preserved buildings of folk architecture. The area is interwoven with a dense network of marked hiking trails. Pecka Castle is one of the most interesting historical monuments in the area. The sculptural tradition is represented by Hořice - a city of stone beauty.
